Frequently Asked Questions
If your question is not answered below, please contact by email at
or call me at
Q. Can I stay with my pet while it is being groomed?
A. Yes, it is possible for you to stay with your pet while they are being groomed. It does cost $15+ extra (depending on size) because they will be done straight through with no breaks, including phone answering. When you call or book an appointment online just request the Express Service.
Q. Do you require any vaccinations?
A. It is Ohio state law that your dog must have a current rabies vaccination. Although I only require a rabies vaccination, I STRONGLY recommended that your animal have a vaccination called DHLPP to protect them from most highly contagious diseases that they may come in contact with any time they leave your home.
Q. Is it cheaper if I bathe my dog at home first? How about if I don’t want their nails trimmed?
A. A large part of a good looking, quality groom is the way the dog is bathed and dried. You can choose not to have me bathe your dog but the price will still remain the same. I do discount cat grooming by $15 if your cat cannot tolerate a bath. Nail trimming is included in any full service groom or bath. You can choose to exclude anything from a full service bath or groom that you don’t feel is necessary, but the price will still remain the same.
Q. How long will it take?
A. The average sized Shih Tzu or Miniature Poodle typically take 1 hour from start to finish. I also offer an Express service for $15+ extra that takes 30-40 minutes to groom a Shih Tzu. A Full Cat Groom takes about 1 hour with a bath or 30-45 minutes without a bath. Nail Trims can take 15-20 minutes
Q. Do you offer walk-ins?
A. I prefer to have an appointment booked for any service performed in the salon. Any walk-in full service groom or bath might be accommodated depending on the schedule that day. It is much safer and less stressful for your pet to have a scheduled time for grooming to reduce their wait time. Customers who call and make appointments always take priority to those that walk-in.
Q. Do you sedate dogs?
A.
Absolutely not. I also do not accept dogs who have been sedated by their owners, even when vets prescribe the medication. Anytime your pet is sedated, the chance of seizures or any harm is increased. My number one
priority is to keep your animal safe and I am not capable of doing so under those conditions. I recommend trying an Express service with no sedation first. If your dog is not capable of being groomed by me with no sedation,
please see a vet who offers a sedated grooming service.
Q. I have been told by other groomers that my pet is very hard to groom. Are you able to groom them?
A. I always try to groom any pet. Sometimes I can groom them easily when other groomers had trouble. If I feel that your dog can possibly harm themselves or me, I will refuse to groom them. I rarely ever have that happen, but sometimes the stress of grooming is too much for a pet to take. If you think that your dog may have a problem please inform me BEFORE I groom them. I do charge a Difficult Animal fee if it takes longer than the average time to groom them. I strongly recommend an Express service if you feel your dog may become overly stressed.
Q. Why is it so expensive if my pet has fleas?
A. There are many flea treatments (Seresto collar, Bravecto, etc.) that are cheaper and last months that will actually eliminate any fleas on your pet and in your house that you can get from your local vet or store. A medicated flea shampoo will only kill the fleas on your pet, then they will return as soon as your pet goes home. I will have to spend more time cleaning and sanitizing than is normal to kill any fleas in my salon that your pet may have brought in. I priced my flea treatment to account for the extra time and effort I will have to spend eliminating fleas from my salon.

Owner
I have grooming professionally for 15+ years.
I started working as a bather part-time at a large corporate store in 2005. I fell in love with grooming and went through the training program. I continued my education by attending and competing in national dog grooming shows. I have trained under some of the top groomers in the country.
I became a Salon Manager and District Trainer at a large corporate store. I took a couple of years off to start a family and am back in my hometown ready to start a business doing what I love.
